Canadian Meat Stuffing

This is a staple for any thanksgiving. It can also be modified for use in meat pies.

Ingredients

  • 1pound lean hamburger 85%

  • 1pound lean pork

  • 1 box beef broth

  • 1/2-1 tsp Allspice

  • 1/8th tsp Ground Cinnamon

  • 3 average sized Russet Potatoes

Directions

  • Peel potatoes
  • Cut/Cook and mash potatoes
  • Once potatoes are cooked mix in raw ground meat
  • Add beef broth ( enough to make it a slurry, not soupy)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Start with 1/2 tsp Allspice (Add to taste)
  • Start with 1/8 tsp Cinnamon (Add to taste)
  • Cook then remove cover and reduce down till thickened
  • Taste again and season accordingly

Notes

  • This recipe freezes well and once the stuffing is made can be packed into pie crusts to make fantastic meat pies.
