Barleywine

(this was done by bad memory several years after the beer was brewed)

6 Gallons (8 gallon boil)

  • 24 lbs UK pale malt
  • 2 lbs flaked barley
  • 2 lbs flaked maize
  • 3 lbs maple syrup (about a quart, added late in boil)

  • 5 oz EKG 5%AA @ 120 min
  • 7 oz EKG 5%AA @ 45 min
  • 2 oz EKG 5%AA @ 15 min

est OG 1.140 est IBU 142
This was started with London Ale yeast, champagne yeast was added at first racking
